Having worked for a project Management consulting practice during the last couple of years, I for the first time had been looking to grow my consulting practice and decide what project management I wanted to study.  The student population was not only interesting, I was taught learning a bunch of about engineering management theory! As can be learnt on a prince 2 courses and training ireland.

During project management training methods, I had had to take part in a lot of start and project end planning, management of risk management, reporting and information sharing.  In addition, I was required to conduct some type of training with my colleagues in the field.  Overall, this method gave them more valuable information to be able to make an educated assessment of any existing project.

In my own practice, I was working more and more independently and produced a couple of notable issues.  These resulted in non-conformances, disputes, miscommunication and numerous other items that were not well thought out, talked about or implemented.

The learning process has led me to consider how project queries on Singapore territory coulder actually made the project success as it was being ahead of on other regions.

Risk management

As early as I was born, my parents had plans of one day owning a restaurant.  I remember filling out margins in one of the many papers in hopes of winning a chance to prepare their place.

I looked at this in a different light.  Everyone who take on a new endeavor is given the same that they need to succeed.  The stakes tend to be higher so when those things go wrong, they most likely will not only deal with the issue through a different project management method, but it also is likely that the issues could come up over another location.

This could affect the original plan that is carefully put into place.  So the risks simply have to be taken very seriously.

Stakeholder Management

Myoggles looks at the bigger picture to figure out how the project plan could be affected.  This is a key part of project management, something that I truly believe is ignored by many.

When I take on a new project, it is not with luck, I have a plan.  I will talk to my client, determine what my client prefers, how I want the campaign to be and what will be knowledgeable enough to complete the project, then we’ll put together the project plan.  This is then a very important step and knowing what to do is one step of the whole process.

I have found “it is all about the people”.  Every company has many people involved in the process and if my original plan failed, I will have to manage many unforeseen problems in the future.

Project body language

A good project Manager is one who is aware of what is happening to people.  Business the language.  Sometimes this gets lost in the piece of the puzzle, think it is the next business card!

In many cases, project managers tend to not look at the next step in the process until it is too late.

This could be a very costly mistake.  A key tool is in my training – measure the people.  Don’t get caught up in the process and impact the project that much that they never get to see the possibilities.

The last thing that other project managers are looking for is to end up at the end of the final solution, having injected individuals into a process to its complete failure, even when they have completed the project.

Projects fail because managers that have other things to do that should not be compromised due to them taking ownership of a piece of the process.  This means that they may no longer be able to complete another job before it is too late.

At an earlier stage of my career a project manager said to me, “if I can get my CFO to tell me the benefit is significant and everyone in the company agreed with that marketing campaign, I can do anything.”

The saying “Nothing good ever comes easy” could change in today’s world.

“Everyone is the enemy” was not the best way to get started in my career as a project manager.

Post project

I have found a management technique very useful for with my projects.  I call it “living with the temporary signed documents”.

Imagine the frustration that goes with a “last minute” project.  The first nice thing is that projects that fall out of the blue can be beneficial, but sometimes they are not. One of my teams was expecting a mail campaign to generate more business once I had started.  Not happening.  This could have been avoided had I visualized the project this way.
