Your Stuffed Burgers Recipe Is Only As Good As The Meat You Are Using

I am gonna level with you here. When I made this Stuffed Burgers Recipe, I did not use the correct meat. To make beautifully stuffed burgers, you must start with the right meat. I stick to a 70/30 blend with the hamburger so that it’s not too lean. It also looks better when cooked.

Start With The Filling

karen from cherry on top crafts makes these and got me hooked!

Before you head to start pressing your stuffed burgers, you need to cook the filling. In this case, we are making buttery ranch mushrooms. You can find that recipe over at Cherry On Top Crafts. One package of mushrooms, one stick of butter and garlic and ranch seasoning. Toss on the stove and cook until your mushrooms are fully done. Also, place your bacon in the oven on a baking sheet. This helps so much with getting it crispy, and you are less likely to burn your arms using the oven cook method.

Press your stuffed burgers

Cavetools delivers again in the quality department.

Cavetools is one of my favorite companies for bbq needs and accessories. They sent me an aluminum burger press, with 200 sheets of square wax paper. I love that they included the paper, as it helps with lifting your burgers out, making clean up a breeze. With this press, you can easily make 1/4 to 1/2 lbs burgers!

To make this stuffed burgers recipe you first need to place half of your burger for each patty in the press, with wax paper under and on top of the burger. Next, place a spoonful of mushrooms and bacon and a sprinkle of cheese. Next, cover the stuffing with the other half of the meat of your patty. Make sure you replace the paper. Press firmly and evenly to seal your stuffed burger. After removing from the press, gently make sure that all of the fillings are inside the stuffed burgers,  sealing the edges with your fingers. Lastly, press with your thumb a little dimple on the top of each burger.

Cook Your Meat

It goes without saying that your burgers need to be well done. I cook my burgers in a cast iron pan, flipping one time. Make sure that the juices run clear. If you are going to bbq these puppies, I suggest using charcoal, to give it an authentic bbq flavor.
