I have been binge crafting lately and loving it! You can call me little miss crafty! I get on these kicks, where one style of crafts is what I focus on and get things done. After spending time with one Craft, I become burned out and move on to the next thing. The same as the seasons go, my craft inspiration comes and goes. Twirl Your Skirt
When Bug started kindergarten, I wanted to be that mom who made her kids clothes. I know now that is a terrible idea to make them all, it is pretty fun to make pretty little girly things. This was made with 4 bandanas and a lace wrapped elastic waist band. It took a little time, but these were also sew easy, with simple lines and easy zig zag stitching!
Below are a few more wearables for my girl. The dresses were made from pillow cases.
Sew Easy
I love to sew.When I first learned, it was on a child sized machine. I really thought I was cool the first time I sewed a straight line. And as with any of my craft obsessions, I get really into it and then I want nothing to do with it.
The blanket above I was commissioned to make as a graduation gift from a mother to her high school football star. She saved EVERY. SINGLE. SHIRT the kid ever had through high school. I cut them up and sewed them together into a lovely queen sized quilt. While this blanket was not sew easy, it was not exactly difficult either. It took the better part of a month to make but oh so worth it to get the pic of the boy holding it!
Below are a few other blankets I made recently.
I will tell you a little story about this blanket. This was intended for my father in law. He was the light of my children’s eyes and the material is all of their receiving blankets cut up and sewn together, again, rag style. I stopped sewing it the day before he had his heart attack and finally finished it. I decided to keep it for my husband, for sentimental reasons. You can read more about the day that changed my life, but please know that it is a very sad story.
Sweet Dreams, Little One
I love baby mobiles. Remember my Baby Dream Catcher? That was after practicing on other projects. For this, I used two sizes of hoops and lots of felt. I ADORE felt and the little hanging things are little birds. The process of making was sew easy that I had the birds cut and sewn in less than a day! I also made one for Bug (who seems to be the recipient of lots of my craft projects) out of an old bike wheel and ribbon.

I promise you, everything I make is not just super girly. My brother in law has two boys, Odin and Thorin. They are my little Viking babies. I had to make a Norse inspired baby mobile. Below you will see so much mythology your head may explode. With no stuffing at all, I promise you these baby mobiles are super sew easy!

I am going to make a confession. I can not stand the Seattle Seahawks. Why, you ask, would I continue to create things that are Seahawks inspired? Simple: my kid loves her Hawks. Poor misguided child of mine. And how can I say no when she throws in ” But Mama, you are the best shoe painter I ever met!”
And Just A Little Christmas Time To Wrap This Up
Can I just be honest again? Christmas time is my favorite! I love the decorations and all the lights. As soon as September 1st rolls around, in my home we officially get into fall mode. That means I start thinking about how I am going to decorate the house and all the fun crafts that come out during the chilly months! Here are some Christmas inspired crafts for your eye delight!
My most note worthy, the second wreath I have ever made, and I was oh so proud of it. I painted the pine cones white and rolled them in chunky glitter and borax, to give the snowy look, pulled out the false poinsettias and got some pretty blue led lights to light this puppy up at night time!
I love chalk art and mixing it up with Christmas is the best thing in my book. I free handed this guy on paper first and rubbed green chalk on the back of the paper. After placing the paper on the chalk board, I used a pencil and lightly traced the picture again. The end result? My Grinch on this chalk board!
