The Heart sunk,
Teardrops streamed down the face.
Voices in the head screamed,
A shrill heart-rending scream.
The Sheets of the bed now a mess,
With the finger nails digging deep.
Deep into the mattress,
Crumpled sheets and broken nails.
The tears never stopped,
The voices in the head made their way.
Their way out of the mouth,
Muffled screams and heavy breathing.
Any bit of hope and light within,
Rushed out of every vein.
The darkness of the room
Poured itself into the heart instead.
All that was left was better if gone.
The tear soaked pillow and crumpled sheets.
A wounded heart and those swollen eyes.
If only all that was gone, stayed.
