IRCTC Partners With Railrestro For E-Catering

IRCTC Partners With Railrestro For E-Catering

Expanding the e-catering base, Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has tied up with Railrestro.com for providing Food to passengers at rail premises.

Railrestro is a dedicated service provider for the passengers on the move. With over 2000+ restro partners and coverage of over 300+ cities, it has emerged as largest food ordering platform in India.

There are many vendors till now who have tied up with IRCTC to supply food at stations and non-pantry trains across the country.

Railrestro CEO Manish Chandra said, “It is indeed an honour for us to be working with Railways through IRCTC as the partner of choice on their site. The arrangement will allow the passengers to be able to avail the service of their choice, rather than be limited and constrained by the licensed food suppliers.

Currently e-catering is available in about 1,500 non-pantry trains and 45 stations. About 700 meals are being booked in a day through IRCTC e-catering site. As per the procedure, a passenger orders through the website, mobile app or over the phone, and select the food of his choice from those listed restaurants.
Under the arrangement, Railrestro’s listing will be available for travellers using the IRCTC’s e-catering website.
Both IRCTC and Railrestro are working on integrating the service platforms so that the revenue sharing arrangement works as a part of the recent policy announced by the Railways.
