Nutella Ferrero Rocher Mousse Cups

Happy Valentine’s Day! Here is my gift to you: Nutella Ferrero Rocher Mousse Cups. Yes, you read that right, Nutella mousse.

If you didn’t already know, I am addicted to Nutella. I have been consuming this stuff since I was a child. I was born in Spain and over there, this stuff was everywhere. My mom would always buy me buns spread with Nutella. Yes, they sell packaged bread already spread with Nutella over there! But when I moved to Canada, these Nutella buns were non-existent. It wasn’t until my teen years that I discovered that chocolate spread that was such a big part of my childhood: Nutella.

Eating Nutella in the form of mousse? Well, that is a whole new addiction! This mousse is so light, airy, creamy and rich that it’s hard to put down. This recipe yields about 4-6 small mousse cups (depending on the size of your cups), but since I used 2 very large cups, I only ended up with 2 portions. But that didn’t matter. I had no problem finishing the entire LARGE cup. To be honest, I kind of wanted seconds. Yes, I believe that I am officially addicted.

So, if you are searching for a last minute dessert to serve, you should really stop now. I think you have found the answer to your prayers! This is basically a no fail dessert. I mean, I don’t know anyone who would turn down Nutella. Do you? Plus, mousse is very easy to make and Nutella mousse is no exception. It takes only a few minutes to mix all your ingredients together.

So, let’s get started.

In a large bowl, use a hand mixer and cream the cream cheese to get it light and fluffy. Next, add the nutella and vanilla extract and continue to mix until everything is fully blended. Rinse the tongs on your mixer. In a separate smaller bowl, whip the cream using your hand mixer set on low-medium until you form soft peaks. Add the sugar and cocoa powder and set the mixer to high and continue to whip until you have stiff peaks. Gently fold the whipping cream mixture into the Nutella/cream cheese mixture until everything is fully combined and there are no streaks. Now, pipe the mousse into your serving cups.

At this stage, the mousse will be very soft. To get it perfect, you will need to let it set in the fridge for at least 2 hours. If you have the time, leave it overnight.

When you are ready to serve, top off the mouse with a Ferrero Rocher chocolate and some raspberries.

Enjoy!
