Bread Street Kitchen, Marina Bay Sands

Hello WEEKEND!

W
eekends are simply TOO SHORT for us to enjoy but I am really grateful that I can finally get to visit the Bread Street Kitchen opened by Gordon Ramsy at Marina Bay Sands! We were so thrilled to visit the place but was a little dismayed that we had to sit at a crammed corner of the bistro because we did not make any dining reservation :(

For a start, we were served with a basket of assorted bread and a block of fragrant butter whilst pending for our orders to be served. The bread tasted pretty hard and dry in general - I would personally prefer my bread to be moist though..

Assorted Bread with a block of butter which melts pretty fast :)

However we loved how rich and buttery the butter tasted and bread tasted the BEST when dipped in a mixture of balsamic vinegar and olive oil :)

Subsequently, our mains were served altogether that the table top got too crammed that we were forced to tackle our dishes one at a time since we were sharing them.

Snapping photos proved to be a challenge as well - soz the place ain't too instagramer friendly as well :(

We asked the staff for his recommendations and it seemed that he recommended almost EVERYTHING on the menu but he did highlight that their signature dishes were their Fish and Chips and Beef Burger - hence we ordered them!

In the photo:
- Slow-roasted Dingley Dell Pork Belly, Spiced Apple Purée (SGD38++)
- Traditional Fish and Chips, Crushed Peas, Tartar Sauce (SGD26++)
- BSU Short Rib Beef Burger 7oz, Monterey Jack Cheese, Spicy Sriracha Mayo, Chips (SGD28++)

To our disappointment, the fish and chips and beef burger tasted really average and not worth the price but the crushed peas and tartar sauce served alongside with the fish and chips proved to be a great dipping sauce for our fries.

The besting tasting dish turned out to be the Slow-roasted Dingley Dell Pork Belly served alongside with sweet Spiced Apple Purée. The pork belly were roasted to a very tender and juicy texture and the apple purée helped to balance the overwhelming taste of fatty meat pretty well. The skin was hard and crispy - tasted pretty much like fried lard. However we would still prefer to have something less fatty though.

Sauces to go with our heap loads of fries!

Fries on the other hand tasted pretty bland and dry and hence we requested for dipping sauce - Tartar, Tomato Ketchup and Chilli Sauce.

We were surprised that their Tomato Ketchup was served in good ol' fashioned tiny glass jars produced by Wilkin and Sons Ltd. Ketchup was simply too sweet to our liking as we turned to our trusty chilli sauce instead.

And... WOW the CHILLI SAUCE tasted SPICY!!! Its like the first time we tasted such spicy chilli sauce *HOT HOT HOT*

It was thrilling to dip our fries in the chilli sauce and this is indeed quality stuff for adults :D

By the end of everything, our tummies were all filled with nothing but starch and we left after footing our bill when the staff asked if everything was fine and the Bro replied in his standard monotonous growling voice: "Actually, everything is average." - the staff shrugged it off with a smile and processed our payment.

Next up, we walked all the way to the Fullerton Bay Hotel to grab some Starbucks Frappé as the Bro said he needed to utilise his 1-for-1 from his Starbucks Card.

And hence we ended up taking a couple of scenic shots...

Follow the Bro...

Interestingly our favourite New York Cheesecake tasted waxy at Starbucks - apparently their standards plummeted too :(

We headed to the esplanade area to catch the live performance - the night view was AWESOME :)

A picture of my favourite boy..

Good night everybody!!
