Staycation @ Lloyd's Inn

Celebrating my BIRTHDAY with ME

H
ello everybody!! I had the best birthday celebration with the hubs as he arranged a surprise staycation for me on my birthday! The moment I showed him the instagram feed of Lloyd's Inn, he told me that he actually reserved the room like almost immediately -- and that was 2 months before my birthday!

In preparation for my birthday celebration, I fixed my bangs at Zinc Korean Hair Salon again and applied 2 days' leave as instructed by the hubs as he claimed to have a series of surprises for me.

MARBLE SLABS!! My current LOVE!

To be honest, Lloyd's Inn is my FIRST ever staycation in my adult life as my parents forbid me to stay out before I was married without a very valid reason.

Hence, marriage to me is FREEDOM! *Muahahahaha*

So early in the morning we checked-in at Lloyd's Inn - must say that it was quite a walk from the nearest bus stop and I was panting a little. Fortunately the morning sun was not too scorching and hence I survived the walk :)

The reception is a small area but it looked bright and airy with a huge bookcase to store magazines.

The friendly staff showed us around and finally into our Room :)

The hubs reserved the Standard Room because he is a very "standard" person *just kidding*

He didn't know the difference between the rooms and hence reserved the most standard just to realise that we were missing a bath tub!! *LOL* But its OK, we still get to enjoy our rain shower :)

Oh yes, we were given our Breakfast Voucher to enjoy our complimentary breakfast @ Killiney Kopitiam the next morning.

After settling down for a while, we took a cab to Woodlands Checkpoint to have our lunch @ KFC.

Lunch @ KFC

I only had a packet of cheesy fries whereas the hubs had his fried chicken cravings satisfied. The Pepsi served was super fizzy and I would not recommend you guys to have such fizzy drinks. I though I was about to suffocate from carbon dioxide poisoning :X

On the bus to Johor ~~
Had my passport stamped at the Customs :D

The most budget and enjoyable way to spend my birthday is to travel to Johor Bahru for a great massage and a feast! Oh yes, and if you have a car, you can even do your car polishing and buy your groceries there as well! Everything is so affordable there :)

I do not have the time and luxury to travel into Johor Bahru frequently and hence travelling there makes it a great birthday treat. I love massage anyways!

After shopping and massage, we had a great and healthy dinner @ Souper Tang in KSL Mall.

Our dinner @ Souper Tang

Super in love with their green beans that were stir-fried with Pu-er Tea Leaves *Nomz*

We cabbed back to Lloyd's Inn that evening to find a lovely package on our bed.

How sweet ~ They have a packet of cookies to welcome us back to our room!

As we were all very tired, the best part is to drown ourselves under the rain shower!

I loved their toiletries as they have a very pleasant fragrance to it and the shampoo + conditioner left my hair smooth and silky.

I was so impressed with their toiletries to realise that their toiletries are NOT available elsewhere as they were custom-made specially for use in the boutique hotel! (I regretted not packing the toiletries back home now because I don't wanna look cheapo by bringing back the bottles just after a night's stay)

However, the good news is that they are selling each bottle at SGD3 if you are dying to buy their toiletries back to your hometown!

Oh and I fell in love with their super soft and fluffy down feather pillows!! They gave me such a restful sleep that I took a photo of the label so that I can buy it :D

According to Lloyd's Inn, the pillows can be purchased @ Hop Lion. When I told the hubs I wanted a new pillow, he was asking: "So you want to abandon your Ploh?" (I bought my Ploh pillow not long ago and it was not that cheap either. . . But but but.. its NOT as fluffy as this!)

Skincare Routine ~ Packed Sulwhasoo's samples so as to travel light
Midnight Snacks ~ the cookies from Lloyd's Inn was FANTASTIC!
Hair Routine =.= (Yes, I simply pitu-ed my face for some drama)

The Day After

We decided to have our complimentary breakfast @ Killiney's as the Western Breakfast option ain't too appetising -- I would prefer buffet style English Breakfast like the ATAS hotels if we are going Western lah.. But to my fussiness, I find that the toast served by Killiney ain't as crispy and traditional as my fav Ya Kun's. Even their milo was overly sweetened with condensed milk - the milo served at Lloyd's Inn 's pantry tasted far better.

Breakfast @ Killiney's

Perhaps Lloyd's Inn should provide a bread toaster and breads so that we can make our own breakfast in their hotel (like those European hostels). I love Nutella and Peanut Butter toasts ~~ I think it will definitely be more economical and tasty than Killiney.

Check Out the Vlog!

Have been snapchatting as well.

After breakfast, we explored the place a little and took some OOTDs.

Lloyd's Inn was hoting some bloggers / youtubers during that period for the Digital Fashion Week and they were flooding the pool area to film their exclusive interviews and hence we couldn't really take many pretty photos that morning ~ bad timing :(

The charm of Lloyd's Inn is that even their minimalistic grey cement walls looked AWESOME in photos!

Would still wanna go back to Lloyd's Inn for Staycation because I have not experienced bathing in the tub yet MEH//

Shall try their "The Patio" or "Big Skyroom" the next time round and roll myself in their comfy quilt and bury myself in their fluffy pillows!
