INGREDIENTS:
Brown Bread slices - 6
Onion (Sliced)- 2 to 3
Kasuri Methi - 1/2 tsp
Mustard - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric - 1/4 tsp
Channa Dal - 1/2 tsp
Asafoetida - A pinch
Tomato Ketchup - 2 tbsp
Chilli Powder - 1 tbsp
Oil - 1 to 2 tbsp
Salt to Taste
METHOD:
- Heat oil in a pan and add mustard.
- Once mustard crackles, add Channa Dal, Asafoetida, Kasuri Methi,Chopped Onions, Turmeric Powder and Red Chilli Powder.
- Tear the Bread Slices into smaller pieces and add the same to the pan. Add Salt too.
- Add tomato sauce, mix well and turn the flame off.
- Serve hot!
If you wish to make this Upma rich in flavour, you may add roasted Cashewnuts and Peanuts as well!
