PORTLAND | Cascade Brewing Barrel House in Portland’s Buckman District is all about tart, barrel aged beers. In fact, Cascade (which was founded in 1998) is considered to be one of the pioneers of the North West style sour beer movement. Their blending house houses more than 1,400 French oak, Kentucky Bourbon and Northwest wine barrels, plus nine foudres, which are filled with a variety of beers that are aged and blended into their final forms.
Locally and sustainable sourced share plates, sandwiches and salads make up the food offering, and it’s all food that’s designed to work well with the beers. Our recommendation? Go for a few tasters to try a range of beers and pair it with the fruit, honey and cheese board.
