Screaming Eagle

Today’s offer features two of the best wineries in California and arguably the world: Screaming Eagle and Abreu. Screaming Eagle was founded in 1986, the first vintage debuting in 1992. Heidi Barrett was the first winemaker at Screaming Eagle and the first vintage was highly regarded by wine critics, creating lots of hype for the up-and-coming winery.  The annual production of Screaming Eagle is very small and ranges from 500 to 850 cases per year. These wines a very special and reward lots of patience in the cellar.

Abreu

David Abreu founded Abreu Vineyards in the 1980s and has been revered as one of the most respected vineyard managers in the history of Napa Valley. He has worked and consulted for the best wineries in the region, including Araujo, Colgin, Harlan, and Screaming Eagle to name a few. He is known for his meticulous attention to detail in the vineyards, and this is especially true for his own wines, bottled under the Abreu label. The first wine he made was from his Madrona Ranch Vineyard, which has a long history dating back to the 19th century. Here, he replanted the vines in the 1980s, keenly aware of the quality of wine that could be made from this parcel. He later acquired other vineyard holdings, and we are pleased to offer this great selection of his wines starting with the 1996 vintage.
