Kapoor’s Café: FBAB

Tags: cheese dhaba food

One can think, work and sleep well only if one has dined well. Punjabi Cuisine has the perfect balance of flavours that can excite any palate. People say you haven’t tasted true India if you haven’t had at a Dhaba that serves the most delicious and calorie rich food. I do agree with it. Lots of Ghee, butter and spices can make your belly happy. Food Bloggers were invited for the inauguration to review a newly opened branch of Kapoor’s café in HSR Layout. This restaurant incorporates the feel of a quintessential local Punjabi Dhaba found on the highways in a much more exquisite and Sophisticated manner.  I know this is just an article and not a book but still I would like to dedicate this write up especially to all my pure vegetarian followers.

Food-  Fantastic. Lassi, masala cold drink and Chaas drinks were splendid and refreshing. ‘Pakoras’ were remarkable. Cheese Pataka Balls were outstanding. Paneer Butter Masala was brilliant, true to its name with ‘Asli Makhan’. Yes, Amul you deserve some advertisement for such a catchy Tag line. Matar Pulao was nice. The Cheese Burst wheat Paratha is phenomenal with molten cheese dripping after every bite. Fruit Cream with nuts was incredible. Menu is nothing exceptional yet there is something that makes it extraordinary. A bit more variety can be added. (7/10)

Ambience- Amazing. Spectacular arrangement that is unique and different. Desi style theme. Cots for seating known as ‘charpai’ or ‘khatiya’ in Mother tongue. Great Contemporary Hindi Songs playing in the background and live dhol to make your dancing feet move. Beautiful framed Posters with punjabi dialogues. Impressive Custom lights made by the staff themselves to add personal touch to the design and décor. Marvellous view from the top floor. (7/10)

Service- Excellent. Wonderful Hospitality. The owner ensures that all guests are comfortable and warmly welcomed. Despite being a little slow, waiters are well trained and courteous. However there is no AC and we have to find our own parking spot. (8/10)

Pricing- Economical. Pocket friendly with value for money. A memorable experience overall. (8/10)
