A new PADI certified diving centre has come up in Mamallapuram and it is only about 60 km away from Chennai. Salty Bone Divers is a novel venture that intends to promote all kinds of diving and awareness about knowledge of marine life. Some of the dive sites are the ruins of ancient temples of Mahabalipuram of the Pallava Dynasty.
