The Newly-Opened Savera Food Square on ECR Is The Perfect Pit-Stop For Your Family Road Trip

Planning a road trip with your family this weekend through the ECR or simply looking out for an option to spend quality time with family? Savera has recently opened a multi-cuisine restaurant complex in Uthandi that will spoil you with choices. It also has a children’s play area and a giant parking space. So, what are you waiting for?

We visited the Savera Food Square on a Saturday afternoon and found the place teeming with family crowd. Chef Anish, who is the manager-cum-head chef ushered us in and gave us a comfy seating indoors since it was too bright to sit outside. Interestingly, the Food Square brings the best of the dishes from popular restaurants like Amaravathi, Kabul, Duchess, Shogun and Snofield under one umbrella. The dining area is common and the menu is combined. You can order a piping hot soup from Shogun, a fiery Andhra chicken dish as starter from Amaravathi, butter naan and curry from Kabul or a grilled chicken steak from Duchess for main course and finish off the meal with a made-to-order ice cream from Snofield. “We wanted to offer choices to every member of a family – from the kid to the grandparent. The Food Square intends to be a place where you can spend time and enjoy with your family,” explains Chef Anish.

We started our meal with a creamy roast chicken soup that set the ball rolling for the meal to follow. Among starters, we loved the mutton chukka, spicy and succulent; the light-yet-delicious chicken wantons with a yummy dip and the crumb-fried mushrooms. For the main course, we had opted for stuffed masala kulcha, dal Kabul, paneer makhani and Amaravathi chicken pepper masala. The kulcha stuffed with potato was a complete meal in itself. Add to that a creamy dal Kabul (their version of dal makhani), slightly sweet but tangy paneer makhani and an uber-spicy chicken pepper masala; you have nothing much to complain.

We also gave a shot to the grilled chicken steak in red wine sauce served with mashed potatoes and veggies and weren’t disappointed. The steak was well-cooked and the sauce was delicious and rich.

After mustering some courage, we squared off the meal with an amazing caramel custard from their dessert parlour and mind you, one of the best ones I have had in Chennai.

Time to hit the steering wheel and set off to this new foodie paradise! Happy feasting.
