Yes. Loaded with vitamins, minerals and nutrients; watermelon is such a Fruit one should not miss particularly during the hot summer season. It is the best time to indulge this fresh, succulent sweet watermelon. The fruit is incredibly hydrating, with up to 92 per cent water content, making it naturally low in fat. One can enjoy this fruit in the form of shorbet, salad, granita, slush and even smoothies / Lassi. Or also one can enjoy a bowl full of fresh watermelon chunks simply.




    Well today's post is a watermelon based dish and that too kid's friendly which means kids will love to prepare it and have themselves. Yes, heard right ! It is a fruity pizza using the base as a big round slice of watermelon. The toppings are some assorted fruits and few chocolate chips, sprinkles. Hence the name here is Watermelon Pizza with assorted fruits and Chocolates.





    This is completely vegan as well as gluten free. Basically a big round slice of watermelon (around 1 inch thick) is cut and used as the base here. The seeds of the watermelon slice have to taken out. Then some fruits like banana, grapes, oranges, apples, pineapples, berries are roughly chopped and placed over the watermelon slice. Few mint leaves are also roughly teared and topped along with 2-3 drops of fresh lemon juice. Finally kids favorite, chocolates (chips and sprinkles I have used here) are added. The watermelon slice is then cut into any desired pieces, either 4/6 depending upon the size of the slice. One can say this is a fruit salad, but representing in pizza form. Do try as the watermelons are in season now !

      Kid's friendly fruity pizza using a big round slice of watermelon with assorted fruits and chocolates

      Ingredients:

      • Watermelon round slice (1 inch thick) 1 no.
      • Assorted fruit (roughly chopped / sliced) 1/2 cup
      • Mint leaf 2-3 no.
      • Lemon juice 1/2 tsp
      • Chocolate sprinkle and chip few

      Instructions:

      How to cook Watermelon Pizza with assorted fruits & chocolate

      1. Take a serving plate and place the watermelon slice (take out all the seeds first).
      2. Arrange the roughly chopped / sliced fruits on top of the watermelon slice.
      3. Sprinkle the chocolate chips and chocolate sprinkles on top.
      4. Drizzle the lemon juice and then cut the base (watermelon slice) into 4/6 slices as per size.
      5. Garnish with roughly teared mint leaves and serve !
