After we had yummy Japanese food at Tsuta’s latest outpost, we are treated to authentic Vietnamese food at Mrs Pho – just located beside Tsuta at 313@Somerset.
Whilst Pho continues to headline the menu, Mrs Pho is introducing deluxe renditions – like this Premium Pho (S$19.80). This classic beef rice noodle soup has been elevated with 36-hour sous vide short ribs marinated in a custom-made spice rub, served alongside silky smooth rice noodles that slide down your throat and a robust beef broth. We definitely recommend getting this Premium Pho when you are there for the tender meat and how value for money it is. Apart from the Pho, you can also their new entrée – Grilled Beef La Lot (S$5.90) – a quintessential Vietnamese starter of minced beef wrapped in betel leaf, served with lettuce, picked vegetables and fine rice noodles.
Our favourite sharing dish has to be this Stir-Fry Crab Meat Noodle (S$16.90 large, S$10.90 small) – perfectly smoky wok-fried vermicelli topped with fresh crab meat. In fact, on days we are craving for something non-soupy, we might just get this as a main.
Vegetables lovers can look forward to this Claypot Eggplant with King Oyster Mushrooms (S$8.90) that sees eggplant cooked to melt-in-your-mouth texture and mushrooms that add an earthy flavour. Although a tad oily, this dish is delicious.
You must try the Marou Chocolate Mousse (S$7.90), which is made from smooth Vietnamese Marou chocolate. It is the first artisan chocolate maker to be based in Vietnam that makes bars from beans that are hand-picked from an island called Tan Phu Dong in Mekong Delta. The additional cocoa crumble that accompanies the mousse gives it additional crunch and texture that makes it a delight to go through the entire dessert.
With these many options in 313@Somerset, the mall appears to be ready to bring Singaporeans around the world with the various international foods that it has to offer.
