Go-Ang Pratunam Chicken Rice | Thailand’s Michelin Award-Winning Chicken Rice Now in SINGAPORE

Media Tasting at Go Ang Chicken Rice Singapore

Go-Ang Kaomunkai Pratunam all hailed from Bangkok Thailand with more than 50 years, specialising in Hainanese Chicken rice in Pratunam Bangkok. You won’t miss Go Ang Pratunam Chicken Rice with its long queues and busy staff in pink coloured uniforms at Bangkok Pratunam. And don’t be surprised if you spot many Singaporeans who are in the queue. Go-Ang Kaomunkai Pratunam has received Michelin Bib Gourmand Award in the Bangkok edition of Michelin Guide in 2018.

If Go Ang Pratunam Chicken Rice is a must visit at Bangkok, you can head over to NEX Mall instead.

Opening their first international outlet in Singapore, you can expect their Signature chicken and rice dishes, soup, Signature Braised pork and of course their homemade chilli sauce. Go-Ang is managed by The Minor Food Group Singapore, who has worked out additional dishes including sea bass, vegetables, tofu, desserts besides the chicken rice.

If you’re uncertain about the authenticity of the chicken rice at Go Ang Pratunam Chicken Rice in Singapore, fret not! Because all kitchen staff are trained by Go-Ang founder Mr. Sombat Pruekpaiboon at the original restaurant in Bangkok.

The single portion chicken comes with an option of chicken breast/ thigh, set on a bed of fluffy rice with slices of cucumber. I’ve ordered single portion chicken thigh, the white chicken was tender, not too oily and generally pleasing. The rice grains were plump, separate, and not so oily. Somehow, I feel there is a lacking of fragrance, probably the absence of ginger taste for Hainanese chicken rice. I love to spam their Signature chilli sauce all over the rice and meat. Their homemade chilli sauce was sweet, savoury and spicy which is very different from our usual chicken rice garlic chilli sauce. And I like how they served it on a vintage rooster plate.

Single portion chicken from S$4.50-S$5.50.

Comforting fluffy omelette with preserved radish that is lightly browned. I would have enjoyed more if there are more of the saltiness of the chai poh.

Chai Poh Omelette with Preserved Radish S$6.50.

Mini deep-fried tofu cubes, not the silken tofu, with a crispy crust and it’s not oily at all! Besides the Thai sweet chilli sauce, they’ve also added chilli flakes and peanuts for that extra spicy kick and crunch.

Fried Tofu Cube with Thai Sweet Chilli Sauce at S$8.

If you’re heading with your friends or family, there are several sharing dishes including steam/deep-fried seabass and Signature braised pork.

Signature Braised Pork (small/medium) at S$8/ S$12.

Sweet ending with crunchy red ruby and coconut ice cream. The coconut ice cream somehow brought me back to Chatuchak. I MISS BANGKOK!!!

Red Ruby & Coconut Ice Cream at S$5
