Bistrot de Venice; Tiramisu with a song

No travel in Italy is complete without Tiramisu, but for a dish that is available in abundance, can one stand out? Originating from the Veneto region in North East Italy, Tiramisu is synonymous with Italian dessert. But in a tourist trap restaurants filled Venice, Bistrot de Venice doles out Michelin guide worthy Tiramisu, even mentioning the recipe with date on the menu.

Walking in after stuffing my face with cicchetti,  I was probably the sore thumb in this two forked, Michelin plate awarded restaurant, asking only for dessert. "Of course, the customer is king. You can order one dish or a full course and we'll happily serve you," said the smiling waiter.

What I didn't expect was the way he described the dish. Since I am still finding ways to describe it, I thought it would be best if I just post the video.

The Tiramisu itself was brilliant. Beautifully deconstructed, the perfect blend of coffee and cream and nice little macaron to complete it. Out of the half a dozen tiramisu I had in Italy, including the dessert course in a 1 Michelin star restaurant, this is the only that I will be dreaming about for some time to come!

Yes, it is very difficult to give directions for a restaurant in Venice, but on your trek from Rialto to San Marco, this is one the way. Google maps is the best way to find it, though! And it cost me about EUR 28, but it was well worth it!
