Kick Off Water Quality Month with Generosity.Org

We loved how much our community helped Gift of Life during our Matcha Matches campaign, so we’re doing it all again! This time, we’re working with Generosity.Org in honor of Water Quality Month. If you’ve ever made tea with bad tap water, you know how important clean water is to the taste of tea. It’s even more important that communities around the globe have access to water, with or without tea! For the entire month of August, we’ll be donating a portion of our 2-Quart Iced Tea sales to Generosity.Org to help them fund the construction of a well in an area without access to clean water.

About Generosity.Org

Like Art of Tea, Generosity.Org is based in Los Angeles. Their mission is to provide clean drinking water to communities in need around the world through the construction of water wells. Since their inception, they’ve funded 795 construction projects in 20 countries, helping over 458,500 people gain access to clean water. This year, Generosity.Org is focusing on building wells in Haiti, Uganda, and countries in both Central and South America.

How Can You Help?

It’s easy! Whenever you purchase a 2 Quart Iced Tea pack from Art of Tea, we’ll donate to Generosity.Org. If you’re new to iced tea, these 2 Quart packages are your best bet for making consistently awesome iced tea. You just throw them in a 2 quart pitcher and brew any way you like! They’re even great for sun tea. All of our most popular iced teas are available in 2 Quart sizes, so there’s an iced tea for everybody!

Water Quality Affects Tea Quality

It’s obvious why we should care about global water quality. Water is necessary for survival and is one of our most valuable resources. But what does water quality have to do with tea? Tea is almost completely made of water. When you think about it, a glass of iced tea is just water with the extracted oils of a tea leaf. Because most of what you’re drinking is water, you’re going to need tasty water to have tasty tea. Not only that, but poor water quality can affect the aroma, flavor, and clarify of your tea. If you’re noticing issues with your tea, it’s worth it to troubleshoot and see if your water is to blame!

Enjoy your 2 Quart Iced Teas this month knowing that (with high quality water!) they taste good and are doing good.
