Royal Pizza is famous for its incredible pizzas that are piled high with tasty toppings. Their pizzas and pasta are baked to perfection and topped with a special blend of mozzarella cheese and your choice of homemade sauce. 12×20-inch trays can feed 12-15 people.
The Royal special, Royal vegetarian, ham and pineapple, and Mike’s favorite, the meat lovers, are the most popular options. One more fan-favorite is Fred’s special, which deserves a shout-out. When a regular client who dined there every Friday night passed away, the pizza was renamed in his honor. It’s a current menu item.
Royal Pizza is dedicated to serving its clients. Therefore, it offers a gluten-free crust and uses locally sourced ingredients whenever feasible.

Royal Pizza History
Gus Pappas and John Pontikes founded the original Royal Pizza in 1969. They were one of only a handful of pizza places in town, and they set themselves apart by loading their pies to the gills with toppings. The University of Alberta and the Park Hotel were among the first to make the eatery a local favorite.
Mike and Cynthia bought the company in 1995 when it already had a dedicated fan base, but the previous owners, Gus and John, were picky about who they would sell to. Before the acquisition could go through, Mike had to show he shared the same dedication to quality, tradition, and customer service as the company’s founders.
