Microwave Pears in Chocolate Sauce Recipe

Power: HIGH - MEDIUM

Serves 4

Cooking time: 18-20 mins.

 Dish : 18 cm ( 7 " ) souffle dish

 

INGREDIENTS

4 even sized pears

150 ml or 1/4 pint water

100 g or 4 oz sugar

piece of lemon

for the Sauce :

4 x 15 ml or 4 tbsps syrup

100 g or 4 oz chocolate


Microwave Pears in Chocolate Sauce Method:

  1. Dissolve the sugar in the water and heat on HIGH for 3-4 minutes.
  2.  Peel the pears and carefully core them from the flower end.
  3. Put them into the syrup with the lemon.
  4.  Cover and cook on MEDIUM for 12-15 minutes until tender.
  5. Cool in the syrup. 

For the sauce :

  1. Break the chocolate into a basin and add the syrup.
  2. Heat on HIGH for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. The sauce should cover the back of a spoon.
  4. Drain the pears and arrange them in a serving dish.
  5. Pour over the sauce.
  6. Chill or serve immediately.
