In Andhra it is famous as Satynarayana Swamy prasadam or Annavaram prasadam. It is such a tasty sweet that piligrims have this as breakfast after darshanam. It is so easy and healthy one.
Ingredients:
wheat Rawa 1 cup
jaggery 2 cups (powder)
ghee 1/2 - 1 cup
cardamom 1
wheat flour 2 tsp (opt)
water 6 cups
Procedure:
-fry the wheat rawa in 3 tsp of ghee till nice flavour comes on Low Flame.
-boil 4 cups of water and smashed cardamom in a small pressure cooker. when water is bubbling, lower the Flame and add the rawa slowly stirring with the spoon. now cover with the lid and after 2 whistles turn off the flame.
-in a vessel take 2 cups of water and jaggery and keep it on low flame with occasional stirring till jaggery melts.
-fry the wheat flourin 1tsp of ghee on low flame till the raw smell leaves.
-slowly add water to the flour while stirring.
-remove the lid of the cooker and turn on the flame again
-once mix it well. you feel the rawa finely cooked. now add flour liquid to it and mix. now stain the jaggery syrup into the rawa and mix well.
-cook on low flame with occasional stirring till the syrup turns into string.
-now add rest of the ghee and mix well.
-your yummy yummy sweet is ready.
Tips:
-if the sweet is cooked till nice string it will stay for 2 days.
-when you touch the sweet with your finger and slowly lift it, jaggery string will form.
-you can add dry fruits also.
