In this article, we’ll show you how to make delicious and easy tandoori chicken recipes that you can make in your own kitchen. We’ve got you covered whether you’re just starting out in the kitchen or are a seasoned pro!

Tandoori Chicken Marinade:

The simplest and most delicious starter is tandoori chicken. This recipe is nutritious and doesn’t contain any artificial food colours. This is how tandoori chicken has always been prepared. This keto-friendly recipe has a flavour profile that is identical to that of the mouthwatering tandoori chicken served in Indian dhabas and restaurants.

What do we need to make this dish?

  • 2 lbs chicken (cut into pieces)
  • 1 cup plain yoghourt
  • 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tbsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tbsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp garam masala
  • 1 tbsp cumin powder
  • 1 tbsp coriander powder
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • Salt and Oil

How do we make this?

  1. Mix the yoghurt, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric, garam masala, red chilli powder, cumin, coriander, lemon juice, and salt in a sizable dish.
  2. Cover the bowl with cling film and let the chicken pieces sit in the mixture to marinate for at least two hours.
  3. Turn on the oven to 400 °F (200 °C) and grill the chicken using a griller and an aluminium foil.
  4. Brush the chicken with oil. (mustard oil can be used for it to taste better)
  5. Put the chicken in the oven and bake it for 30 minutes.
  6. Broil the chicken for 3–4 minutes, or until it begins to turn faintly charred, after turning on the broiler.
  7. Serve and enjoy!

Smoked Tandoori Chicken :

To create smoked tandoori chicken, the chicken is first marinated in yoghourt and spices, cooked in a tandoor oven, and then smoked to give it a smoky taste. Here is a dish you could try:

Ingredients:

1 whole chicken (about 2 kg), cut into pieces

1 cup plain yoghourt

2 tbsp lemon juice

2 tbsp vegetable oil

1 tbsp paprika

1 tbsp ground cumin

1 tbsp ground coriander

1 tsp turmeric

1 tsp chilli powder

1 tsp salt

2 garlic cloves, minced

2-inch piece of ginger, grated

chopped cilantro leaves

How to make it ?

  1. Whisk the yoghurt, lemon juice, vegetable oil, cumin, coriander, turmeric, chili powder, salt, garlic, ginger, and cilantro together in a large dish.
  2. Place the chicken pieces in the bowl and equally distribute the marinade over them. Place plastic wrap over the dish and place in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  3. Set your tandoor oven’s temperature to 450°F (230°C).
  4. Shake off any excess marinade before removing the poultry. The poultry may be skewed or simply placed on the racks of the tandoor oven.
  5. The chicken should be cooked through and slightly charred on the outside after 10 to 12 minutes in the tandoor oven.
  6. The chicken should be taken out of the tandoor and put onto a baking sheet.
  7. Use a smoking gun to smoke the chicken for about 10-15 minutes, or until the desired level of smokiness is reached, with your chosen wood chips.
  8. With some lemon slices, sliced onions, and fresh cilantro stems, serve the smoked tandoori chicken hot. Enjoy!

What goes with tandoori chicken?

  1. Coriander-Mint chutney
  2. Mashed potatoes
  3. Any sauce of your choice
  4. Cucumber salad

How to make the infamous Coriander-Mint Chutney:

A Green Chutney Dip is something of a standard if you were raised in an Indian household. Of course, green chutney can be prepared in a plethora of various ways and with a wide variety of ingredients in Indian kitchens. Depending on what I’m planning to use it as or for, I make a variety of variations myself.

  1. All the ingredients for the green yoghurt chutney should be set away.
  2. The coriander leaves and mint leaves should be chopped and measured after washing and drying.
  3. Mix the vegetables, yoghurt, ginger-garlic paste, green chilies, cumin, and salt in a food processor until they make a smooth, creamy paste.
  4. The yoghurt chutney with cilantro and mint is ready to eat.
