Ingredients

For the Blackberry Balsamic “Shrub”

  • 1 Tbsp Spiceology Blackberry Balsamic blend
  • 1 cup Sweet Red Vermouth
  • 1 cup Port Wine
  • 2/3 cup White Sugar

For the cocktail

  • 1/2 oz Tequila (reposado)
  • 1/2 oz Aperol
  • 1/2 oz Blackberry Balsamic “Shrub”
  • 6 oz Session IPA or Pale Ale

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine Blackberry Balsamic, Port Wine, white sugar, and Sweet Red Vermouth. Bring to a light simmer just to dissolve and combine ingredients.
  2. Transfer “shrub” into a mason jar or plastic tub with a tight seal and chill in the freezer to super cool quickly.
  3. In a high ball glass, layer tequila, Aperol, and your Blackberry Balsamic “shrub”. Slowly pour 6oz of ice cold session IPA into the high ball glass.
  4. Slowly fill glass the rest of the way to the top with ice and float a touch of BB “Shrub”.
  5. Share this recipe with your friends so they can make their own while you sit in the sun and crush this one.
