What can the Alfonseños expect from Mayor Salamat during the extended lockdown?

Since the announcement that the lockdown will be extended until April 30, people started worrying about the next days where everyone should strictly stay at home longer – jobless. This situation had our expectations on the local government units to be eager and implement programs that may help cope with our daily needs.

Good news for the residents of Alfonso, Cavite!

Together with Mayor Randy Salamat’s team of frontliners, a quick response has been made to assist the Alfonseños in this time of crisis. Here’s what to look forward to:

1. Turmeric Tea for Senior Citizens

This 12 in 1 Herbal Powder Drink will be given away to the senior citizens of the 32 barangays in Alfonso, Cavite. Each will receive 300 grams of Delfa’s Ginger Tumeric Drink to help them boost their immune system and help fight COVID-19.

2. Grocery items for April birthday celebrants

Birthday gift sneak peek

Would you believe it if I say that senior citizens who will celebrate their birthdays this April will receive a bag of grocery items? “Gusto ko pa din pong maibigay ang munting regalo sa inyo ng Pamahalaang Bayan ng Alfonso sa kabila ng ating pinagdadaanan ngayon”, stated by Mayor Salamat on his facebook post.

If you have not received anything yet for your lolo or lola, it was also announced that the stock is on its way and the gift will be delivered to your home. Let us be patient.

3. Weekly 5kg of rice

If you have read my previous blogposts, then you must be aware that each household in Alfonso receives 5 kilos of rice weekly. This is delivered by the Sangguniang Barangay to the resident’s doorsteps. If you haven’t received your rations, you may proceed and claim the pack at your respective barangay hall.

4. 1 kilo of hotdogs for each household

Just last week, a trending post from Mayor Salamat earned numerous suggestions and praises from its viewers. On a post, he put up a survey to determine the Alfonseno’s preference: 1 kilo of hot dog, fish fillet or fish mackerel. It is not surprising that hotdogs won the survey. This week, 5 kilos of rice will be delivered to household with 1 kilo of hotdog. Yay! (not sponsored, BAKA NAMAN STAR!)

5. Vegetable seed packs for every household

The Buto ng Buhay program aims to provide vegetable seeds for every household so residents could start growing their own garden and harvest the fruit of their labor later. Few days ago, my family received 7 small bags of seeds. These are: pechay, labanos, okra, mustasa, patani, kangkong, and sitaw.

6. 500 pesos cash and groceries for SAP non-beneficiaries

On the Social Amelioration Program, only 6,640 over 16, 840 households would benefit and receive financial assistance from the National Government.

However, non-beneficiaries will still receive 500 pesos and groceries under “May Grasya rin, kahit Quarantine” program in the municipality of Alfonso.

7. Extended deadline for payment of business tax

For businesses owners, an ordinance was released to the public only this week. You may view the complete details for clarifications here.

There you have it! What’s your good news from your barangay? Let me know in the comment section.
