Moravian doughnuts

From the recipes of our grandmothers, Yeast Doughnuts with jam and Whipped Cream.

Ingredients:

500 g smooth flour 2 pcs egg 1 pcs/td> yeast cube (yeast) 0.25 l

td>milk

0.5 cl of rum 1 tbsp sugar pinch of salt marmalade or fudge/td> chocolate frosting (topping) whipped cream

Procedure:

1. Sift the flour into a bowl
2. Add salt, eggs, sugar, yeast and rum, pour in lukewarm milk
3. Make a smooth dough
4. Cover and let rise for about 30 minutes
5. When well risen, the dough is shiny, elastic, smooth and if you squeeze your finger into it, it makes a dent which flattens immediately
6. Use a spoon to cut out individual doughnuts, which you place on a floured roll and leave to rise for about 10 minutes
7. Fry the individual pieces in hot oil until golden brown (there must be enough oil to allow the doughnuts to float)
8. Decorate the cooled doughnuts with jam, chocolate glaze and just before serving with whipped cream.

Recommendation:

The marmalade can be replaced by jam, rubbed sweet curd or e.g. yoghurt.
