Pancakes from Haná similar to Pancakes. They were Baked dry on the stove but also in lard in a pan. The sweet version was spread with pudding and the savoury version was added to soup. There are many variations of this folk dish.

Ingredients:

500 g of plain flour 20 g crumbs 1 tsp sugar 1 tsp salt 2 dl milk fat

Procedure:

1. Add the milk, yeast, sugar to the flour, add salt and make a smooth dough and let it rise for 20 minutes
2. On a floured rolling pin, form the dough into small balls and let them rise for another 5 minutes
4. Make patties from the balls and bake them on both sides in lard until golden.

Note:

There was also a ceramic mould for the beleš, called a belešnik, where more beleš were baked at once and in different shapes, the mould was greased with butter and the beleš were baked in the oven. We can also find the name beléšky, beneše …
