The last years of this decade have marked the beginning of the democratization of kitchen robots that “do everything”. Until not so long ago it was a high-priced appliance sold by a brand that had no competition.

Fortunately in recent times this is changing, every day there are new models on the market and at much more competitive prices as the robots of the Mambo Cecotec family, of which we have had the opportunity to test the model 8090.

Functions of the Mambo 8090

The Mambo 8090 is a programmable multifunction Food processor that allows up to 30 typical Cooking functions, including cooking food.

This new robot from the Spanish company Cecotec, allows chopping and chopping food in a few seconds; shredding; grind hard foods such as cereals or nuts to make our own flours; pulverize foods such as salt or sugar to obtain textures such as powdered sugar; grating foods such as cheeses, even the hardest and cured ones; whisk; mount; emulsify and blending; blending, to make juices, smoothies, etc; it also has a turbo function, for chopping very hard foods such as ice.

What I liked most about Mambo 8090

This new robot has some features that clearly and positively differentiate it from the competition.

For starters, we have the MamboMix, a shovel-shaped piece that can be attached to the jug replacing the blades and whose purpose is to stir the food without destroying it, which has always been the big Achilles heel of this type of robot. In this way, the Cecotec Mambo is much more similar to cooking by stirring with a traditional spoon. The MamboMix is also used for kneading, getting the masses are perfectly formed.

Another of my favorite features of this robot is the possibility of cooking without speed and without the lid, which is very useful, for example, to reduce sauces.

The adjustable heating power function is one of the ones that surprised me the most because it’s the first time I’ve seen it in a robot of this type. Just so you understand, when we cook on a gas, ceramic or induction stove, we have a control that allows us to regulate the power so that the food heats up more or less quickly and thanks to that we can, for example, fry garlic slowly so that it releases its aromas without burning. In other words, we can regulate the time it takes to reach the temperature we are looking for.

Another detail that I found very successful is the design of the butterfly, which at the bottom has a silicone pieces that are rebañando the bottom as they rotate.

As no two cooks are the same and not everyone has the same needs when it comes to cooking, Mambo Cecotec has several models with some differences between them so that everyone can choose.

And is that, for example, if you cook a lot you may be interested in a model that includes an extra jug as the Mambo 9090, which includes as an accessory the jug with ceramic coating. But if, for another example, you want the Mambo as a second robot to have in a vacation home where you don’t have a dishwasher, you might be more interested in the 6090 model (Mambo Black or Mambo Silver).

The price of the Cecotec Mambo

The price of the Cecotec Mambo varies between the 169 euros that the Mambo 6090 currently costs and the 399 euros which is the price that the Mambo 9090 usually has. The 10090 model will not be on sale until 2020 and, at the moment, we do not know what its price will be.

The price of the Mambo 8090, which is the model I have been testing for the last month is €349.

Although during Black Friday it is possible to purchase all of them for a heavily discounted price.
