Oatmeal smoothie for breakfast, the best way to start the day

Total: 5 min Diners: 1

I don’t usually post many smoothie recipes because they are so simple that they have almost nothing to explain, but still, from time to time I consider it necessary to share some to serve you as inspiration when preparing your own smoothies, as happens with this oatmeal smoothie.

Ingredients

Flaked oats, 4 tablespoons Sliced banana, 1 Peanut butter, 1 teaspoon Honey, 1 teaspoon Water or unsweetened vegetable drink, about 50 ml (optional)

Preparing the oatmeal smoothie

That said, there is not much mystery, everything you need to do is reduced to a single step.

Step 1

Put all the ingredients in a glass blender or food processor until we have a fine texture. If it is too thick for your taste, you can get a more liquid texture by adding a little water or vegetable drink.

Notes

To get an even creamier texture you can do three things.

The first is to pre-hydrate the oatmeal, and for that we will leave it the night before in a glass with about 50 ml of the vegetable drink without sugar that you like. This way, at breakfast time it will be much easier to grind.

The second is to grind the oatmeal into flour using a coffee grinder or a powerful Thermomix-style robot. We can grind a certain amount and keep it in a jar and have it ready for several days, so we save having to grind it daily.

The third, is using frozen banana that will make our smoothie a delicious ice cream, although yes, this option is much more successful in summer.

With the ingredients that we have proposed you what you get is a creamy oatmeal smoothie base that, although alone is already delicious, you can customize by adding other ingredients, such as chia seeds or poppy seeds at the last moment to give a crispy touch, we can add other fruits like pineapple, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, peach, mango….

This last one is one of my favorites, and if you also add a few drops of natural vanilla essence to the mango or, better yet, we scrape the inside of a vanilla pod and add it to our oatmeal and mango smoothie, the result is spectacular.
