Ingredients:
1 cup vendakka / okra / lady’s finger, chopped
5-6 shallots, sliced
2 garlic cloves, crushed
5 kanthari mulaku (bird’s eye chilli) or 2-3 green chillies, chopped
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
salt to taste
1 1/2 tbsp coconut oil
Preparation:
- Heat coconut oil in a pan and add chopped shallots and crushed garlic and saute well.
- Add green chillies , chopped tomato and saute well adding little salt.
- Add 2-3 cups of cooked rice water (kanji vellam) , chopped okra, turmeric powder and adjust salt. Then cook it covered at medium flame for 8-10 minutes till the okra gets cooked.
