Red Velvet Eyeball Cookies

Soft and chewy classic red velvet cookies decorated with candy eyes for Halloween. The cookies are soft and chewy, and so quick and easy to make. These cookies make the perfect last minute Cookie to bake for a fun Halloween party or for any fall themed occasion. Everyone will love these fun Halloween themed cookies.

The cookie dough is made with a classic easy red velvet cookie dough and baked as usual. After they have baked, remove them from the oven, and place candy eyes on each cookie. Let them cool completely on a cooling rack before serving.

Red Velvet Eyeball Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • red food coloring
  • candy eyes

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking soda. In a large bowl, combine butter with granulated sugar and brown sugar until fluffy.
  • Add in egg and vanilla extract, and mix until it is smooth. Add the flour mixture in and mix until it is fully combined. Add in the red food coloring and mix until it is fully red.
  • Using a cookie scoop, place the cookies onto a large ungreased baking sheet at least 2-inches apart and bake for 10-12 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven, and decorate with the candy eyes.
