Greek Sloppy Joes

Quick and easy Sloppy Joes makes the perfect weeknight meal. But instead of classic sloppy joes, these sandwiches are seasoned with Greek seasoning and oregano. And topped off with crumbled feta cheese. They make a delicious twist on a classic meal. Serve with a side of your favorite chips and a side salad for a quick and easy meal that you can have ready in less than 30 minutes.

For these sloppy joes, I used ground beef, but you could also use ground turkey instead, to make this meal a little bit healthier. Brown the meat in a large skillet over medium heat, breaking it up as it cooks until no longer pink. Drain the grease and add in the onion, garlic, tomato sauce, and seasonings. Let the sloppy joes cook until the sauce has thickened. Serve over hamburger buns topped with crumbled feta cheese.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup diced red onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 ( 15 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Greek seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • crumbled feta cheese
  • hamburger buns

Instructions

  • Brown ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat, breaking it up with a spatula as it cooks. Drain grease, add in onion, garlic, tomato sauce, Greek seasoning, and dried oregano.
  • Continue to cook over medium heat for another 10 minutes, until thickened. Serve on buns and sprinkle with feta cheese.
