Barbaresco is a great red Wine, still relatively unknown compared to all other major Italian and Piedmont wines that take its name from Barbaresco, a Piedmont village, where the Nebbiolo grapes are grown.

Barbaresco is a great wine too often overshadowed by its famous cousin, the Barolo because of their vicinity and similar wine making process. Both wines are from Piedmont, both wines were given the DOCG status, both wines are made with Nebbiolo grapes with the only difference, except the provenance of the grapes, is the ageing, Barbaresco is aged for at least 2 years, Barolo 3 years.

The Barbaresco Montubert is an award winning, single vineyard, Barbaresco, made from grapes grown in an old vineyard. The results are a very elegant Barbaresco, rich, a complex nose, lively and a full palate with soft tannins.

The Barbaresco wine, like its cousin Barolo, is a wine that wants to be decanted and allowed to breathe before being enjoyed and it is a perfect wine for game, stew, mature cheeses or simply an alternative to his most famous cousin, Barolo.
