Southern Charred

Southern Charred is one of the best kept secrets in Downtown Raleigh. Specializing in southern BBQ, they have managed to bring the elements of good southern cookout indoors, sort of. The restaurant is technically both indoors and outdoors with huge sections of there walls missing leading to there deck outside.
They have a variety of delectable foods to order but when I go I like to focus on the appetizers.
The flavors are bold and the portions are big enough to create a very filling meal. Below is a few of my top pics to order:
BBQ NACHOS: Tortilla chips topped with pulled pork, baked beans, beer cheese, sour cream, house pickled jalapenos and scallions.
SKILLET MAC & CHEESE: Beer cheese and Brie with elbow mac, bread crumbs, and baked beans. (you can add pulled prok, pulled chicken, brisket, smoked sausage, or Bbq tofu for a surcharge)
SMOKED CHICKEN WINGS: Buttermilk marinated, smoked and grilled wings severed with your choice of sauce-pictured is there spicy BBQ
SMOKED HALF CHICKEN PLATTER: Chicken smoked for 2 hours, house pickles, hush puppies, and your choice of two sides. Pictured mac & cheese and collard greens.
