Chryseia 2019

In classical Greek, Chryseia means "d'ouro", like the river. The Prats and Symington families are part of a new generation of Douro producers and Chryseia is one of the wines responsible for the reappearance of non-fortified wines in this region. Its very own style denotes harmony and elegance. A symbol of the meeting of Portuguese noble and Bordeaux traditions, it brings us a new notion of modernity.  The Chryseia 2019 red wine is composed of 75% Touriga Franca and 25% Touriga Nacional, and is the result of a 14-month ageing period in French oak barrels. It presents a deep aroma of forest fruits and black fruits, aromatic herbs and spices. In the mouth, it shows a lot of flavour with fine and vibrant tannins, good acidity, vigorous and elegant. Its finish is long and spicy. It goes well with red meats, grilled meat and roast beef.  This wine has won some important distinctions, such as 19 points in Revista de Vinhos (Wine Magazine); 96/100 points by Wine Spector; and Concurso Vinhos de Portugal Grande Ouro 2022. Available in our online store.
