Aphros wine from the Vinho Verde region

Vasco Croft, one of Portugal's pioneers of biodynamic agriculture and viniculture, is the producer of Vinho Verde Aphros. This project started in 2003 in the property Casal do Paço, but today it has spread to other properties in the region. Aphros wines are produced from biodynamic viticulture where agriculture is based on a use of understanding the relationships within nature - the mineral, plant and animal diversity seen as a whole and linked to the wider context of the rhythms and forces present in the cosmos. As in the vineyard, the winery excludes chemical treatments, mechanical operations are avoided, the maceration and fermentation of red wines is always done with foot treading in granite tanks (lagares) and the amount of SO2 is reduced to a minimum. In the same way, whenever possible, the time of harvest, shelving and bottling are chosen according to the astronomical calendar. Aphros and Phaunus are the names you have to look for if you want to enjoy these magnificent and different vinho verdes! Available to order!
