Quinta do Vallado - 300 years in the heart of the Douro

Located on the banks of the river Corgo, an affluent of the Douro river, it belongs to the family of the legendary Dona Antónia Adelaide Ferreira, keeping her descendants to this day. In the 65 hectares of vineyards Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Sousão, Tinta Roriz and Tinta Barroca are the predominant red grape varieties while Arinto, Gouveio, Rabigato, Alvarinho, Verdelho da Madeira and Moscatel Galego stand out in the white grape varieties. The vineyards are planted on schist soils, facing south and west, at altitudes between 50 and 450 meters. 55 of these hectares are contained by vineyards planted in the 90's and the remaining 10 hectares are made up of very old vines planted between the 20's and 60's, in which Vinha da Granja (1928) and Vinha da Coroa (1958) stand out. Until 1987, the grapes produced on this farm were used in the production of Casa Ferreira Port wine. This sale provided new opportunities such as the production, bottling and marketing of wines with their own brand. Thus was born the Quinta do Vallado brand, recognized by the excellent DOC wines, the unforgettable Port wines and the olive oil it produces! Available to order!
