Situated on the slopes of the Pinhão river valley, Quinta dos Muros, one of the properties of Quinta do Portugal S.A., occupies almost 42 hectares (of which 29.57ha are vineyards planted in Socalcos (terraces). This property has been owned by the Mansilhas family, owners of Quinta do Portal, since 1881. Initially the grapes produced there were sold in bulk, but from 1974 they started to be used in the production of their wines. The estate only grows red grapes and Touriga Nacional and Tinta Roriz are the most prominent grape varieties. Quinta dos Muros M7 is the red wine produced from a blend of one of the plots of old vines over 50 years old. The selection of the grapes to be vinified was made only with the tasting of berries in the field. From this selection resulted a wine produced from 27 varieties, a wine that deserves your attention when you have it in the glass... Let him communicate everything it has to offer! 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2017 are Vintage Ports that you can taste. Touriga Nacional exposed to the south finds the ideal conditions to provide an excellent structure and complexity beyond the black and ripe fruit, and Tinta Roriz, with exposure to the west lends it the acidity and aromatic freshness. After vinification in lagar and vat, the result is a straight Port Wine with an attractive violet and exuberant aroma of blackberry and plum. In the mouth it shows at first velvety, well balanced, but soon comes all the serious character where the tannins show their claw, helped by a beautiful acidity that leaves a long and powerful finish!
