Offley, founded by Willilam Offley in 1793 in London, began as a wine export company. Later it ventured into the production of Port Wines, giving rise to a brand recognized worldwide as a creator of high quality wines. In the 1830's Joseph James Forrester, later known as Baron Forrester, joined the company. This partnership resulted in greater exposure for Offley and the Port Wine industry.
