Heir to ancient flavours, Quinta dos Carvalhais combines experience with innovation to create very elegant wines, with flavours of intense delicacy and the unique personality of the Dão region. Quinta dos Carvalhais, located in the municipality of Mangualde, was acquired by the Sogrape group in 1988. New vineyards were planted, with the noble varieties of the region (Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Alfrocheiro, Jaen, Tinta Pinheira, Encruzado, Assario, Verdelho, Bical and Cerceal) and a modern winemaking centre was built. Today, Quinta dos Carvalhais is a reference of Portuguese wines, with particular emphasis when we talk about the wines of the region that saw them born - the Dão. With a total area of 105 ha of which 50ha are vineyards, Quinta dos Carvalhais produces, exclusively with its own grapes, wines that honour the tradition and reputation of the Dão under the supervision of the oenologist Beatriz Cabral de Almeida.
