French Oven Fries | Spicy Chili French Fries By Asha Mehra

Spicy Chili French Fries are the new style of making french fries, we usually relished the french fries from McDonald’s but very few may be thought to make french fries in the oven or bake it. Spicy Chili French Fries are very easy to make and I am sure it will be loved by all, these potatoes get a dusting of spices before roasting for extra flavor.

Spicy Chili French Fries are a very good treat for the friends, in fact, you can surprise them with this new recipe. So let’s start making this new recipe of spicy potato oven fries.

Ingredients

  • 4 russet potatoes, cut lengthwise (Russet means dark brown color with a reddish-orange tinge)
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika 
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme (Ajwain)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon Red Chili powder

Time estimates – Prep time: 10 min  

Cook time:35 min  

Total time:45 min  

Method

  1. First of all, preheat the oven to 450°F.
  2. Now coat a baking sheet with cooking spray. Cut the potatoes into fry shape, place them on a microwave-safe plate and microwave them for about 10 minutes or until they are mostly cooked through. This is what we are doing is just to make potatoes half cooked so that it can be prepared for 3rd step.
  3. Now mix the remaining ingredients and sprinkle over the potatoes, toss till all are well coated.
  4. Place the fry shape potatoes on the baking sheet. Bake for 20 minutes.
  5. Turn the potatoes over and bake for 15 minutes or until they are crisp but not very hard.
