The new year wouldn’t be complete without my annual trip to Westfield with my mum. We have found over the years that it seems to get really busy from about 1pm onwards, so we always ensure that we are up bright and early so we can get there before the mad rush.

As I have recently moved to Crawley, my train passed through Gatwick. It may seem a little silly but I love seeing the planes; I am fascinated with flying, hopefully I’ll be going on one soon!

I am trying to save some money this year so I can travel more, so I tried my best to cut down on spending once at the shops.  I did do lots of window shopping though and decided that if I won the lottery, as well as travel the world I would definitely be buying the Jaguar F type and some Tiffany diamonds.

The highlight of the day for me though, as it always is, was lunch! We stopped at Comptoir Libanais for lunch, which is a Lebanese canteen located in the main Food hall of Westfield. It was the beautiful vivid colours of the food that caught our eyes.

Then the menu which sold it to us.

We went for the Mezze Platter for two which consisted of Baba ghanuj, hummus, tabbouleh, falafel, lentil salad, halloumi cheese, pickles and pita bread. It was quite literally heaven on a plate.

The drink was a rose flavoured drink, it was very refreshing and had a lovely fresh taste, almost like that of a turkish delight. I have never eaten Lebanese food before but it is something that I definitely would choose again.

Overall, I had a brilliant day out. I love that fact that Westfield has such a wide range of shops from the high end to normal high street shops. There is a massive food hall with a wide range of different food and plenty of stalls selling snacks for whilst you are shopping. The shopping centre is easily accessible from Shepherds Bush underground station.
