Coastal Food, Sea Food for me is synonymous to a must eat food ! So, when Aloft Cessna Business Park  invited for their ‘Cuisines of the Coast’  festival at their signature restaurant – Nook , I made sure I went in empty stomach to satisfy my coastal food cravings ! Great spread on the buffet covering Malvani, Kerala, Maharashtrian, Andhra, Goan and Bengali cuisines which meant loads of stuff to try !

Ambience of the place is Uber class with soothing interiors, lighting and comfortable seating arrangement. The Earthen pot arrangement adds a nice touch and gives it the coastal feel that the fest is all about.

Let me jump straight to the food ! With the vast buffet that it was, one will be spoilt for choices. Let me attempt and highlight all that I hogged on

Murukku, Chips of various kinds is what I had my eyes set on first and it took me to my younger days of grabbing similar stuff from the road side shops of Trichy ! Beware, few helpings of this and you will go for more, and you could forget the rest of the buffet, so grab to taste if you want to try out the rest of the food !

Let’s get the Appetizers lined up –

Non-veg options – Lamb Pie, Punjabi Chicken Chaap, Grilled Fish, Grilled Chicken with Mushroom Sauce. Stand outs for me in these – the Punjabi and Grilled chicken !!

On the Veg Front – Veg Lasagne and Roasted Potato were my favourite picks !

There were Pizza’s too !!

The famous Sea Food bar ! Almost empty with everyone picking on it and yes it had Octopus too !

The Live Tawa Fish counter ensured there was no derth of fish around.

Paniyaram counter was another hit !

Fryum varieties with chutney options !

We had a few of their signature dishes brought in to our table for tasting and it did eat well !

Prawn Rasam – Rasam in itself is refreshing, add prawn to it and the flavour profile goes a notch higher !

Crab curry, Pompret Fish, Dhal and a veg curry – all were pretty impressive !

Few salads that we tasted – the mango prawn salad and the cucumber mango salad. Something unique to taste and the combination was stellar. Dressing was perfect and so was the seasoning.

I know it’s a lot of food but there is more !!!  Masala fish, spicy chicken and a crispy cauliflower ! Fish was succulent and definitely had the masala in. Chicken with the wonderful spice and ofcourse the curry leaves flavour infused was lip smacking.

Had more stuff to taste, but the empty stomach was no longer empty and still the craving was there, so small portions of every other thing made it on the plate !  The Egg plant with Mozarella cheese was yum and the mushroom sauce on the chicken was excellent !

Desserts ensure a perfect end to the meal and again lots to choose from ! Did not try out everything but whatever little we tried was good !

And before I forget , what compliments a good meal is a good drink ! I ended up ordering a kahlua based cocktail ( yes I forgot the name ! )

That ends the meal ! Yes ! I am sure ! If you want to grab the same, head here soon because the fest is only until 26th of May 2017 ! Happy Hogging !
