7 Subscriptions That Can Save You Money

There are subscription services available for nearly everything right now, from cookies and toys to razors and meal prep kits. Before you start spending Money on every subscription box there is, which ones will save you money in the long run?

1. Pin Culture

If you’ve got long hair, how much money do you spend every month on hair ties and bobby pins? Both of these items are an essential part of our daily beauty ritual, but they often end up disappearing, leaving us scrambling to get our hairdo to stay in place. Pin Culture boxes start at $2.60 a month for 25 bobby pins or 10 hair ties, or $9.25 a month for both. You can customize your order to match your hair color or change things up as often as you like.

2. Dollar Shave Club

Razors are expensive. On average, you’ll pay more than $20 for a set that under the best conditions might last you a month. Dollar Shave Club has plans that vary from razors and blades to kits that include everything you might need in the bathroom. You’ll never need to worry about running out of shampoo or shaving with a dull razor ever again, since everything is delivered right to your door when you need it.

3. Sponge Club

If you haven’t gotten a new sponge in a while, it’s probably the grossest thing in your kitchen. Sponges are an ideal environment for bacteria to grow, so experts recommend tossing it out and getting a new one once a week. If you hate the idea of constantly driving to the store just for a kitchen sponge, Sponge Club might be a good option for you. You get four sponges delivered once a month for only $4.44.

4. Quip

An electric toothbrush is better at cleaning your teeth than standard options as long — as you’re changing out the head every three months. Instead of spending hundreds of dollars on a brand name like Sonicare or Oral-B, Quip gives you the option of paying $25-$45 for a toothbrush. It also sends you replacements heads — and toothpaste, if you like — for $5-$10 every three months.

5. Nature Box

Finding healthy snacks can be a challenge, especially when potato chips and candy bars are so much cheaper than healthy options. Nature Box lets you pick and choose the healthy snacks you want for up to 40% off what you’d pay in the stores. You don’t have to be a member to order their tasty treats, but you do get a decent discount if you sign up.

6. Cutting Edge Firewood

We all love using our fireplaces, but in today’s busy world, who has the time to split firewood or the money to pay someone to do the same? Cutting Edge Firewood offers a unique opportunity. You can have firewood, kindling, matches and firestarters delivered to your home once a month, once every two weeks, or once a week — depending on how often you use your fireplace.

7. Fabletics

How much money do you spend a month on yoga pants and other fitness clothes? If it’s more than $50, consider signing up for Fabletics. This subscription service sends you a new complete fitness outfit once a month based on a quick quiz that helps the site figure out your sizes, needs and preferences. You always have the option to skip a month if you don’t want a new outfit or cancel entirely if your closet gets full.

Take a look at your monthly expenditures and see how some of these subscription services could help you save money in the long run. You might be surprised how much these boxes could cut your coats.
