Baseball is our national pastime and is a bonding point for countless fathers and sons. Heck, even many moms have taught their kids to throw a Baseball.

But baseball has its seedier side. Steroids, chewing tobacco, groupies. These are among the child-unfriendly hazards that you'll find in many baseball movies rated PG-13 or higher. Fortunately, there are several solid baseball films that even your five-year-old can watch without losing their innocence.

7. The Bingo Long Traveling All-Stars and Motor Kings (1976)

So long as you don't require your five-year-old to recite The Bingo Long Traveling All-Stars and Motor Kings, you are in for an uplifting baseball flick starring James Earl Jones, Richard Pryor, and Billy Dee Williams.

It's a rare film about the Negro Leagues and one that can be a smooth entry into baseball's complicated history.

8. The Bad News Bears (1976)

The original version of The Bad News Bears is rated PG, making it generally acceptable for most five-year-olds. Walter Matthau crushes his role as grumpy manager Morris Buttermaker in this critically-beloved classic.
