10 Hilarious Movies that Aren’t Actually Comedies

Have you ever seen a movie that wasn't supposed to be funny but ended up making you laugh? Of course, we all know those types of movies—the ones where you simply can't help but laugh out loud. They're usually not considered comedies, but humor somehow still finds its way into these productions in unexpected ways. But let's face it, when everything around us is uncertain or melancholic, sometimes a good dose of silliness is what's needed!

1. Grizzly Man by Werner Herzog

One user shared, “Grizzly Man by Werner Herzog—documentary about a man who lives with bears. Spoiler: He gets eaten in the end.”

One replied, “Morbid.”

Another one added, “I like the part of the doc where Werner criticizes the man as a filmmaker and as an actor.”

One concluded, “Oh, the bit with the bee. For crying out loud.”

2. Forrest Gump

One Redditor shared, “Forrest Gump is NOT listed as a comedy on IMDb.”

One replied, “Stupid is as stupid does.”

Another commented, “Wikipedia says it is. Idk what to believe anymore.”

3. Final Destination

One user posted, “Final Destination.”

Another replied, “You beat me to it. lol. the bit in Final Destination 2 where the airbag blows up in that woman's face and she impales her head on a pipe obliterates me and idk why.”

Another user commented, “See. I'm pretty sure Final Destination is meant to be comedic.”

One user responded, “By 3 there's a good bit of comedy.”

4. Twilight

One user shared, “Twilight. Trust me it's so [hecking] funny, especially when you consider how seriously people took it back in the day lol. The dialogue. The editing. The pained acting from both Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. 10/10 recommendation.”

Another user replied, “Absolutely. I took the plunge and watched the whole saga last week for the first time in many, many years. It was almost transfixing how bad they are, but in a really entertaining way. The running up the trees scene made me spit out my drink. So I second your recommendation lol.”

5. Grease 2

One user shared, “Grease 2. There's a song called ‘Who's That Guy' because they all wonder who that guy is but he doesn't really do anything. And at least 3 songs about gettin' laid.”

6. Roadhouse

One Redditor posted, “Roadhouse! It's one of our favorite comedies.”

One user posted, “The Human Centipede. People think I'm insane lol.

Another replied, “Never watched the movie, but I laughed so hard I cried simply reading a synopsis of the movie.

Another user added, “I got introduced to it from Tosh. 0, so that softened the blow of seeing the human centipede and all the weird, gross [stuff].”

9. Heathers

One user posted, “Heathers.” One replied, “Heathers is a black comedy… ‘[Do] me sideways with a chainsaw heather.”

“Showed that movie to a teenager and she fixated on the mineral water sequence,” one commenter replied.

Another user commented, “Dating myself, but when it was originally released, comedy was not in the description. I was the only one in the theater laughing. My friends were all confused.”

10. Drag Me to Hell

One user shared, “Drag Me To Hell. There's a scene where it's insinuated that a small, black cat dies, but the ‘body' the demon throws back is VERY clearly a large, gray stuffed animal, like it's so obvious it's bad, and when my best friend and I watched that in middle school, we laughed so hard we cried and kept rewinding it. Edit: I found the scene and realized I mixed up some details, but still, a very small dark gray kitten and then a HUGE light gray stuffed animal.”

Another user seconded, “Drag Me to Hell. I laughed throughout the whole movie.”
