1. Demolition Man (1993)

Demolition Man is a sci-fi action comedy that is start-to-finish action with an exciting premise. Simon Phoenix (Wesley Snipes) is an evil crime boss and Spartan's arch nemesis.

After a hostage situation goes wrong, both are frozen cryogenically as prison sentences. Things go wrong at Phoenix's 2032 parole hearing, and he escapes. So the police unthaw Spartan to help them because the future is nothing like the past. The police don't have guns, and you use three sea shells instead of toilet paper. It's hilarious and easily rewatchable. 

2. Bullet Train (2022)

Bullet Train is an action comedy following an American operative, Ladybug (Brad Pitt), and his handler Maria Beetle (Sandra Bullock). After being assigned to retrieve a briefcase full of cash on a fictionalized version of the Japanese bullet train Tokaido Shinkansen, Ladybug battles lethal English assassins. It's action start-to-finish and one of the best films of the year. 

3. Crank (2006)

Crank is an action film following British hitman Chev Chelios (Jason Statham) living in Los Angeles. After the mafia poisons him, he has to keep a constant flow of adrenaline to stay alive. So he takes drugs, fornicates with his girlfriend in public, and fights with people while tracking the man who poisoned him. 

4. Die Hard With a Vengeance (1995)

Die Hard with a Vengeance is an action thriller following NYPD Lieutenant John McClane (Bruce Willis), who teams up with Zeus (Samuel L. Jackson) to stop the bomb threats made by Simon (Jeremy Irons).

Simon has already set a bomb off downtown and employs them to play a game of Simon Says before confessing a bomb is on a train headed to the Wall Street station. So the two Hurry across New York City to the financial district, jumping through his hoops while trying to prevent an even bigger revelation later. 

5. Taken (2008)

Taken is an action-thriller that grips you from the start. Ex-CIA agent Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson) tears up France hunting down the Albanian human traffickers. They kidnapped his teenage daughter Kim (Maggie Grace) and her best friend while they traveled in France on a European Tour following U-2. 

6. The Rock (1996)

The Rock is another exciting action thriller following a rogue group of Marines seizing a group of tourists on Alcatraz Island. They are equipped with rockets full of deadly nerve gas and threaten to fire them into San Francisco unless the U.S. government pays $100 million to the next-of-kin of men killed on missions that General Hummel (Ed Harris) led and that the Pentagon denied. 

Hummel is outraged these veterans never even received a military funeral. So the Pentagon sends a team of Navy SEALS, an FBI Chemist (Nicolas Cage), and a former resident (Sean Connery) on an action-packed mission to save the day. 

7. True Lies (1994)

True Lies is a spy action comedy following U.S. government agents Harry Tasker (Arnold Schwarzenegger) and Gib Gibson (Tom Arnold). Unfortunately, Harry's wife, Helen (Jamie Lee Curtis), has no idea that he's a spy leading a double life until she is suddenly pulled into it for a heart-pounding action-packed thrill ride. 

8. Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991)

Terminator 2: Judgment Day science-fiction action thriller and another example of a sequel surpassing the original. It centers around a young John Connor (Edward Furlong) on the run from a Terminator, an evil artificially intelligent robot from the future who won't stop until he's dead.

Connor is the leader of the human resistance in the future when the machines have taken over. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton reprise their roles. 

9. Casino Royale (2006)

Casino Royale is a spy film starring Daniel Craig in his first appearance as Bond, James Bond. In a high-stakes poker game played at the Casino Royale in Montenegro, Bond must defeat the terrorist financier Le Chiffre (Mads Mikkelsen) and bankrupt him per his assignment. 

10. Con Air (1997)

Con Air is an action thriller centering on a prison break aboard Con Air, a Justice Prisoner, and Alien Transportation System airplane. It follows U.S. Army Ranger Sgt. Cameron Poe (Nicolas Cage). After three men attempt to assault his wife, he hits one, accidentally killing him.

So eight years later, he's released and flying back on Con Air when an ensemble cast of prisoners make getting home to his wife and his daughter, who has never met due to the accidental manslaughter. Definitely, top-tier action and a classic nineties film.
