Indian Women Should Not Watch Porn Or Masturbate

By Sakshi Kanodia

Remember that scene in F.R.I.E.N.D.S. where Monica was teaching Chandler how to pleasure a woman to her fullest by demonstrating the erogenous zones of a woman and got stuck on 7!!! Gosh!!!

For me, it was not too surprising to observe that the characters were so comfortable with conversing about sex amongst them even when there were guys in their group.

The girls not only discussed their favourite sex positions but also how many times they did it and much more.

The American T.V. scenario is quite different from the Indian picture.

TABOO’S DEPICTION

In our ostensible modern Indian Society, sex and everything related to it is such a taboo, especially for women.

The modern day bhartiya naari, who is an open-minded, independent figure, when asked about anything related to sex, shies away from society. If one hears such words from a girl’s mouth, Oh God!, havoc is created; she is not the ‘Perfect’ girl. She is unfit for our society.

What wrong did she do? Oh! Talked about virginity, or how good or bad the guy was in bed or she likes to pleasure herself?

Wow! Isn’t this concept of judging a girl fantastic? Like seriously, people! Stop judging a girl who is trying to explore something new which the society does not approve of apparently.

What is really wrong with a girl trying to find sexual relief before having sex and that also after marriage?

It is amusing to see that a girl needs the sanction of the society to use her genitals for her pleasure in her bedroom.

BOYS AND GIRLS: CHAUVINISM

Generally speaking, every Indian parent knows or does have an intuition that their boys are watching porn or are doing something for stress relief.

And an even more humorous and demeaning fact is that when boys watch porn and masturbate, then people say, “ladka hamara bada ho gya!” or that “beta bathroom mein shampoo gira reh gya”.

My only question is that why is it expected from them to have sexual relief after a certain age but when we girls do it we are treated as downtrodden pieces of junk? On the same time, everyone is pretty cool with like ‘apna haath jagannath‘.

Girls aren’t meant to practice, joke or talk about sex. They are supposed to shut their eyes, ears and lips to such sexual desires but once they get married they are supposed to jump into bed on their wedding night and have intercourse with their newly-wedded husband.

It’s like when a boy is a virgin in college, he is laughed at by his friends and encouraged to lose it. But when a girl loses her virginity before marriage she is characterless or already-used.

Dear society,

Wake up! The world has moved on far beyond, you should too.

It’s not wrong if a girl watches porn or talks about sex. Girls have urges too. Our lady parts are for us, not for our future husbands.
