The XLF has been one of the greatest benefactors of the pending tax bill and has had quite a run since the Fall of 2016.

Its weekly bars chart, shown above, shows that last week it bumped up against the lower line of the long-term 2004 to 2008 channel (shown in black). If the next couple of weeks continue to give it pause at this line, the big financials may experience a significant pullback soon.
