The yearly freebie from Royal Mail that has been running for years, where children can write to a postal address with Royal Mail and receive a yule tide letter back from the one and only Father Christmas. Children writing letters to Santa dates back to the early 19th century, it’s a tradition in the UK and thankfully a reply can be received.

For over half a century Royal Mail Belfast has run “Operation Santa” and it is something truly magical. The elves in Belfast are working extra hard this year and the deadline for a guaranteed response is the 30th of November 2023.

How does my child get a letter from Santa this Christmas with Royal Mail?

Letters are available by writing to the below address:-

Santa/Father Christmas
Santa’s Grotto
Reindeerland
XM4 5HQ

Responses can be received in both English and Welsh. An example of the response can be found in English here and in Welsh here.

You will need to add postage of a first or second-class price stamp, a second-class stamp costs 75p and a first-class stamp costs £1.25. A very good price for such a lovely sentiment.

All letters will be replied to by Christmas Eve or usually within 10 days.
